Mahavishnu Orchestra: Birds of Fire - Billy Cobham is a favorite of mine. May be the best Fusion CD ever made.
Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here - Shine on You Crazy Diamond. Says it all.
Kansas: Left Overture - This is where I got on this prog train ride. Knew as a kid of 10 that I hated mediocrity. Don't leave home without it.
Marillion: Script for a Jester's Tear - With the remastered bonus disk. Dark, rich, and full of venom. Can you really beat Chelsea and Grendel?
Igor Stravinsky: a recording of Le Sacre du Printemps (The Rite of Spring) - Let's face it, the whole jazz and prog movements owe much to this great innovator.
The Who: Quadrophenia - Keith is tireless, John is music, Roger is power, and Pete is a genius. My favorite band of all time, and the first rock concert I ever attended: I was 15!
Bruce Springsteen: Born To Run - The Boss in the prime of his greatness. I said greatness, not popularity. I get off of this ride at Darkness on the Edge of Town.
Fish: Vigil In a Wilderness of Mirrors - Fish is the master poet of the prog genre. He is meaning and feeling. I never get enough of this.
Deep Purple: Perfect Strangers - Hard and Kickin' Ass. Great production too.
Led Zeppelin: The Complete Studio Recordings - End of Story.
