Omega: 200 Years after The Last War -- For me, this is still the best record to rival Pink Floyd's DSOTM for brilliance in its concept and delivery. Hard to find on CD though!
Gordon Giltrap: Fear Of The Dark -- An amazingly solid effort from a guy who can create so much melody and structure from a six stringed hand held device.
Steve Vai: Fire Garden -- Proving that the need for speed does not exceed the need to feed our need to be freed. By this I mean this album drips with it all in very liberal doses - melody /structure/ finesse / speed / flash / ego / balls to the wall riffage / thump, bump and grind. It rips!
Genesis: Selling England By The Pound -- One guess why?
Kayak: Close To The Fire -- One of the best comeback efforts I have heard. The lead break in the 4th track called "Frozen Flame" is just sensational.
Yes: Tales From Topographic Oceans -- The oft maligned magnum opus from Steve Howe & the boys is still one of the most highly revered pieces of music to ever grace this household. A total classic.
Jackson Browne: Lives In The Balance -- I don't know why but this album just does it for me. Great songs with no filler or lost direction. One of his best? Maybe!
Tempus Fugit: Tales From A Forgotten World -- An amazingly clever offering from some very talented guys from South America. Grab this if you see it!
Pell Mell: Rhapsody -- Just a stunningly beautiful symphonic rock masterpiece.
Mastermind: Excelsior -- A mind numbingly intricate but damned clever jazz/fusion journey that is hard to beat!
