  • ELP: Brain Salad Surgery - the epitomé of "progressive rock"! "Karn Evil 9" remains my single favorite ELP composition.

  • Goblin: Roller - one of Italy's best, and one of THE best. Great music by the quintet known for supplying horrormeister Dario Argento with their standardized "horror~prog" soundtracks.

  • Jan Hammer: The First Seven Days - this could be Jan's finest hour. A head-on collision between jazz-rock fusion and electronic, otherwordly textures.

  • Kenso: Yume No Oka - one of the best albums by one of Japan's top five progfusion outfits. These guys don't know how to play a bad note! Dual keyboardists, too. :)

  • Return To Forever: Romantic Warrior - Corea. Di Meola. Clarke. White. Put them together, and the result = "essential"! Grade A Prime fusion!

  • Rush: Signals - Terry Brown's final production job with the Canadian wonderboys brewed their songs to utmost perfection. Ged's best synth work, too.

  • Saga: Silent Knight - a new fifth member and the absolute pinnacle of their song-based groove-laden keyboard-heavy rock.

  • Mark Shreeve: Legion - the most energetic, dynamic byproduct of *melodic* electronic music ever produced. The opposite of ambient!

  • Tangerine Dream: Force Majeure - known for their electronic output, this album is a slab of pure, spacey instrumental prog, not without melodies to perk your salivary glands.

  • Rick Wakeman: The Six Wives Of King Henry VIII - what is there to say? This is Rick! One of many albums that proved Yes needed Rick more than he needed Yes.

  • Hits: 4395
