In the past, I've heard more doom, black and folk metal from Finland than anything else. Intervention does not follow any of the above mentioned paths.
Here, five musicians are presenting their 2010 demo while a debut full length is expected soon as well. Three compositions for a total running time of 13:36 is what they have recorded for us. Although a demo, the sound production is of good quality. I can say the same about the musicianship of those Finns. With two guitar players, you can almost take for granted that the rhythm vs. lead work is going to be interesting. It is indeed, with solid riffs meet melodic leads, progressive time signatures and tasty solos. You have harsh vocals with cleaner ones, even some high pitch a la Deep Purple (Ian Gillan era). The musical direction chosen was thrashy death metal. Mid to fast compositions that are really kicking and bound to make the fans of the genre bang their heads.
Although World of Violence presents nothing new to the scene, it still a well done CD .
