Revivor: Voire Dire

This four song EP from Ireland's Revivor is a short blast on the time travel bus or it might be a time travel blast on the short bus. Either way this is a retro light rock outfit that tries hard to be an XTC clone. In keeping with that philosophy they attempt to be profound just as their mentors did and much like the elder statesman, come off like a bunch of yuppies fueled by Cheech & Chong's best stash.

While the music is inoffensive and Bill Vail's vocal style is soothing and laid back there is just nothing on this disc that makes me want repeated exposure to it. The best song on here, the title track "Voire Dire" is a cross between the already mentioned XTC with a dash of Big Star thrown in. Simply put, this disc is a bit boring but if you are a fan of their teachers than by all means break out the bong and prepare to be enlightened.
