Nugent, Ted: Happy Defiance Day Everyday

If there was ever an outspoken personality for the Hard Rock and Metal scene, and a true guitar hero to boot, it is our own "Uncle" Ted Nugent. For over four decades The Nuge has been entertaining fans with killer music and an acerbic wit that makes you scratch your head and think about the state of world affairs. That being said, there is an MP3 collection of the man's work being made available for the Fourth Of July holiday and its title Happy Defiance Day Everyday. It's a title that makes sense since Nugent was never one to neither stand on ceremony nor sit idly by while injustice and political vice put a stranglehold on society. If Nugent thinks you suck, he will tell you to your face and not via his management or press team. If Nugent thinks that you are doing wrongs to the environment or the world, he will call you out publicly and very likely turn more people against you than you might have been prepared for. This is the kind of champion one needs in their Rock and Roll and while he occasionally tests the limits, I have long enjoyed the majority of his musical output. This MP3 only downloadable album covers some of the very classic years and reaches all the way up to the most recent albums such as Spirit Of The Wild, Craveman and Love Grenade. For me personally, I lean to the older, older stuff but that is just me. We get some representation in this regard by finding "Cat Scratch Fever" and "Free For All" here but noticeably absent is the classic "Wango Tango". Perhaps Ted felt this song has been on too many compilations already, and who are we to argue with a musician that is as good with a rifle and a bow and arrow as he is with a guitar. In the end these thirty tracks are a good place to start if you are coming in late to the movie and need a guide on the journey. As a solo performer, Uncle Ted has delivered more than a dozen studio albums and at least a half dozen live recordings and some videos. Add to that his work with the Amboy Dukes and Damn Yankees and you have quite the list to peruse but it is surely one that will make you a fan of the man.

What's amazing about this release is that if it's ordered from Amazon.com on the day of July 4th, the fans will get all of these tunes for the meager price of $.76 cents. How friggin' cool is that? Even better, if you only want his outrageous rendition of the "Star Spangled Banner", well you can download that number for free all day. If you somehow miss the special sale date, don't be too upset because the whole thing is still available for less money that it costs to see a movie nowadays.
