Eyes Set To Kill: Broken Frames

Broken Frames is the third album from the female fronted post-hardcore outfit that have created something of a stir on the contemporary Metal scene, no doubt in part to the visual allure of sisters Alexia and Anissa Rodriguez. They stick to a formula here that largely has male screamer Cisko (making his debut with the band having replaced former frontman Brandon Anderson) bellowing out the verses with the sweeping interludes provided by Alexia's angelic tones and maintaining just about the right balance between the two. When Cisko begins to give you a headache some respite is provided in the form of the catchy "Ticking Bombs" and "Ryan" where he makes way for Alexia entirely for the albums two highlights.

Musically it is all very much in the From Autumn To Ashes vein; discordant riffing and a frenzied battery of percussion and the formula is repeated so often over the thirty six minutes that one track pretty much blurs straight into the next. Not pushing any boundaries but what Eyes Set To Kill do, they do well, and with the apparent ongoing support of the Metal media it would not be a surprise if they make a significant breakthrough at some point.
