In 2006 Marco and Riccardo Paltanin started a band to be called Eloa Vadaath, and now they have released their debut A Bare Reminiscence Of Infected Wonderlands. Eloa Vadaath are a diverse group, their numerous influences range from avantgarde, death, progressive, black and thrash metal to acoustic, atmosphere and classical music.
"Coalesce: A Murmuring Plight Of Nephilisms (Intro)" is the customary atmospheric starter following onto "Coalesce Part I: A Perverter Among The Kainites" a song I struggled to enjoy, it just seems too busy and there is way too much going on. Sure Eloa Vadaath get marks for effort and enthusiasm but they need to back it off some and let their songs have space to breath. The band do show some reserve at times but you can't cram so much into a song, especially with all the styles it just isn't coming out right. I also struggled with some of the vocals and the average production at times like that on the title track "A Bare Reminiscence Of Infected Wonderlands", parts of which are just painful. They need to get the sound right and utilize their strengths' without overdoing it, then this band could release a much better CD.
Whenever a new Italian band is mentioned I am always eager to sample their material, more often than not there is something special about this country's exciting bands. Eloa Vadaath aren't one of the best, reading the supplied information gave the impression that I was about to experience something special, problem is upon hearing A Bare Reminiscence Of Infected Wonderlands it didn't turn out that way.
