Vampires Everywhere: Lost In The Shadows

The very fact that Vampires Everywhere appears happy to have settled on a band name that shouts "Bandwagon Jumping!" should in itself alert you to the fact that this, their debut EP (I thought two songs constituted a single?) severely lacks in the originality stakes.

So with that established, let's break out the "can we appeal to young teen girls obsessed by the ultra safe "Twilight" franchise check list" shall we.

White faces? – check
Red Eyeliner? – check
Stylish pointy haircuts? – check
Retreaded riffs? – check
Generic screaming? – check
Scary band member names? – check (Michael Vampire, Jay Killa, David Darko...you get the picture)
Century Media deal? – check
Auto-tuned vocals? – check

Hold on...Century Media?? Auto-tuned vocals?? Well amazingly, yes on both counts. How this bunch of uninspired trend chasers got signed to a label that should know way better is a good question. As for the vocals, well the less said the better, auto-tuned – really, who thought that was a good idea??? Anyway, every box is ticked now, so let's wheel out our target audience (my eldest daughter hasn't been seen without some sort of vampire related book, CD, or DVD for several months and was visibly excited by both the band name and graveyard imagery on the cover) and low and behold..........even she thinks this is a load of old codswallop!!

Beware, there are Vampires Everywhere. Time to break out the wooden stakes and go a-hunting.
