This new band from Greece called Until Rain are more than competent when performing moving intricate music, and one could say without hesitancy that The Reign Of Dreams is a gripping progressive metal album. Certainly someone who is keen on the music of Dream Theater or fine progressive metal will be impressed with the material that Until Rain has recorded.
Until Rain's line-up on The Reign Of Dreams is that of singer Damien Roussos, guitarist Theodore Amaxopoulos, bass player Orestis Fikos, on keyboards is Lefteris Germenlis and Alex Hughes plays drums. With each members enthusiasm united on The Reign Of Dreams they proceed to generate many challenging passages.
The Reign Of Dreams is a concept album relating to dreams, "Epilogue Pt. 1" while being a short track to commence with has one of many very appealing keyboard segments, and on "Departure", drum fills lead into a kick pedal/guitar driving heavy metal style, which subsides for the vocals, before the progressive metal soon returns to the forefront. Until Rain's instrumental sections are impressive, as are the vocals like the way they and traditional drums are united on track three "The Reign Of Dreams" which sounds wonderful, and it doesn't stop there as Until Rain continue to make an impact. With a funky bass/drum beginning, "Eerie" varies between metal and colorful Middle Eastern styles, and the band also cater to heavy progressive instrumental fans with "Oneiromancy".
