Sinbreed: When Worlds Collide

Power metal fans, here is a fine new band called Sinbreed to include on your wish list. Sinbreed serve up some exciting classic Euro metal on When Worlds Collide, which is a primarily swift paced melodic debut.

Sinbreed has some big metal names included in its line-up; the music's propulsion is courtesy of Frederik Ehmke of the mighty Blind Guardian with his rock solid/energetic drumming. The powerful wide ranging clean vocals belong to Herbie Langhans from the metal band Seventh Avenue, and the band also includes bass player Alexander Schulz and founder Flo Laurin, who tears it up on the guitar and keyboards. In addition, When Worlds Collide has contributions from keyboard wizard Joost van den Broek (Ayreon, Star One, After Forever), vocalist Thomas Rettke (ex. Heaven's Gate), and keyboardist Morten Sandager [Pretty Maids).

Following a short guitar intro Sinbreed power it up with "Newborn Tomorrow" and forge ahead with their prompt music, the spirited "Book Of Life" retaining that momentum. Galloping drums help kick off "When Worlds Collide" an impressive title track, which sees the pace drops for the chorus where I was pleased to hear some keyboards. "Dust To Dust" packs a heavy punch, while "Infinity's Call" is a fetching Euro style speedster, as is "Through The Dark", featuring some guitar/keyboard inclusions that really rock, as they do on "Arise". "Salvation" is a fine way to finish this new album, with an epic chorus that is so infectious, not to mention the great music that goes along with it.

When Worlds Collide is an especially likable introduction, though Sinbreed aren't the most unique of metal bands, but then how many are? In the end, after hearing this, who cares, as When Worlds Collide has so many good elements to enjoy. Check it out.
