Chaosfear: Image Of Disorder

Chaos(n): A state of utter confusion or disorder.
Fear(n): A distressing emotion aroused by impending danger.

Put these two together and you have one of the most devastating metal acts to come out of the county of Brazil. With a deafening onslaught of massive guitar that should awaken those that have laid dormant waiting for a band to bring all the thrashy goodness of old school metal into the present, Chaosfear takes all the gut wrenching mayhem that brothers Fernando and Eduardo Boccomino can produce with their respective six strings and combines it with the primeval rhythm section of Andrson DeFranca on bass and Danilo De Freitas on drums to produce one of the most electrifying disc of pure unbridled aggression I have heard this year.

This is the bands second full length disc and it did not take them long to figure out what they do best. The snarling, growling vocals of Fernando display all the venom and anger needed for this type of music. Brother Eduardo on lead guitar is as menacing as anyone with sheer nastiness displayed throughout the disc. When he unleashes a solo like on the title track "Image Of Disorder" or the scintillating "Destined To Your Own Hell" it takes you into another dimension where the metal gods both past and present seem to have converged. Never overdoing it, he adds that extra touch that makes this album superior to most you will come by in this genre.

Every once in awhile the guys seem to be reminding you to keep breathing so they toss in a snippet of pure melody to rest the strained neck muscles. The intro to "Don't Mask Your Weakness" is a prime example where the simple eerie melody suckers you in before they pummel you with their punishing metal crunch. Another spot that comes to mind is the brief clean vocal section of the title track "Image Of Disorder". Believe me though, these little rest stops are needed as the remainder of the disc will make you think that you just went 11 rounds at the losing end of a Mike Tyson bout!

There seems to be a surge in high quality music coming from this part of the globe and Chaosfear is one of the bands to keep an eye or an ear out for. If this disc is any indication, metalheads are going to be enjoying these boys for a long time to come!!
