Seek Irony: First Three

Seek Irony are an alternative hard rock/metal band from Israel and have recently released their initial album demo First Three. The demo includes the first three singles from their yet to be released album Soon. A couple of years ago the band was set to release their first album but it did not work out, however, out of those tracks came these three songs which have been re-recorded. Seek Irony are Yoav Volansky (keyboards, electronics), Daniel Strosberg (bass), Kfir Gov (vocals), Eran Muntner (guitar) and Rom Gov (drums).

The music of Seek Irony is hard hitting, guitar driven riff based heavy rock and metal, with a definite slant towards alternative music. The vocals of Kfir Gov are strong and robust and seem like a good fit for the band. Besides the heavy crunch of guitars, there is an emphasis on electronics, especially in the hard driving "Tech N Roll" where a bass heavy techno groove and heavy riffs propel the song along. "Dragging me Down" is solid hard rock with a pretty melodic chorus and more heavy guitar riffage. "Low" continues in a similar vein with heavy riffs and some neat electronics, giving this one an alternative edge.

Seek Irony show a lot of promise with this short EP. Although only three songs, the band clearly has a youthful exuberance and energy that comes through loud and clear. If First Three is any indication, their soon to be released full length album should be a lot of fun and am looking forward to it. Fans of riff based heavy rock/metal should have something to look forward to.
