Screaming vocalist Sean Peck, the twin guitar assault of Dave Garcia and Anthony Wayne McGinnis, joined by bass player Mike Giordano and drummer Norm Leggio, make up San Diego heavy metal band Cage. Cage isn't a new band, they have five albums in their discography, this one being their latest powerful collection of speed driven metal called Science Of Annihilation.
The spoken words on "The Power That Feeds" lead into a furious fusion of speed metal titled "Planet Crusher", as Cage blasts off with destructive guitars and lively drumming, a fine demonstration of Cage's feisty metal and appetizer of what's to follow on Science Of Annihilation.
Beware of the "Scarlet Witch", another blistering metal fest, and Sean Peck's changing vocals on songs like "Operation Overlord" and "Black River Falls" sound great... or was that King Diamond? Cage's explosive pace is displayed on the aptly titled, given this band's music, "Speed Kills", and the slower "Spectre Of War" offers a short reprieve before the crushing metal music of title song "Science Of Annihilation".
Science Of Annihilation is packed full with energetic performances, executed by a potent band playing intense heavy metal that's not so over-produced.
