Metal Mind Productions has brought you another great metal disc with the re-release of this 2002 winner from the very underrated thrash band Overkill. This live recording will remind all listeners just how dynamite this band is both in studio and as they are captured here live.
Recorded in 2002 at the Paramount Theater in their home state of New Jersey, Overkill rips through 13 songs of unbelievable metal madness that span their long and productive career to that point. From the opener "Necroshine" to the traditional ending of "Overkill" fans of old school thrash will get an earful of what they love best. This is relentless metal assault of the most serious kind with guitarist Dave Linsk and Derek Tailer leading the charge. Lead singer Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth is at his peak here. You have to wonder just why these guys flew under the radar for so long and are only now finally getting their just due. Ellsworth is a powerful and dynamic singer who captivates live and luckily this is captured on the album.
This one is a treat that will take you back to the days that this type of music ruled. They are a band that is still making great music to this day and I am glad for this chance to once more have my neck sore for days thanks to the uncontrollable headbanging that this album induces. This is one of the bands that helped define the genre they inhabit and this album is Overkill doing what they do best. These guys deserve to fall into the category of legends and you will hear why after the live thrashing you receive with Wrecking Everything". I cannot tell you to sit back and enjoy this one as there is no way you will be able to hold still for that long!
There is also a live DVD recorded from this night with the same name that has the full concert on it. I have not seen it but I am sure it will be an addition to the collection also.
