This Australian act has been in the underground scene for over a decade now. They released a few demos as well as EPs during that time. Now, in 2009, they finally came up with their debut full length, simply called Nailed.
The first thing you will need to do when you put this CD in your player is to crank up the volume, because the music was recorded low for some strange reason. Then you'll get the proper feeling as you go through this kicking slob of Black Metal. Destruktor means brutal Black Metal with a certain melodic touch. Oddly enough, in the opening track, "Embrace the Fire", those Aussies have included some acoustic guitar riffs and arpeggios to back up the electric run, which turns out to be pretty cool as far as I'm concerned. You won't hear this instrument anywhere else on this recording. Basically, this music is of the in your face type, with a lot of blast beats, tremolo pickings, but also incorporated crunchy riffs during the moderate times. Not to forget the nice Black & Roll riffing scattered here and there. The vocals are wicked, suiting the musical direction very well actually.
Nothing outstanding to be heard on Nailed and some parts remain repetitive without becoming boring as such.
