Don't worry, one way or another Dave Brockie
Experience will offend you, but then why else would
you be listening to this steaming pile of waywardness?
With a tongue that rivals Frank Zappa circa Sheik
Yerbouti and an energy not heard since John Freese's Notorious One Man Orgy, Songs For The Wrong is perfect for short blasts of infectious fun.
"Crazy" sees Mr. Brockie (also a member of the ghoulish metal band Gwar) repeating two lines for close
to three minutes, while "Churchmouse" is a great take
on the pained, rip-your-heart-from-your-chest ballads
patented by the likes of The Alarm and early U2
(though you can also read it as an, er, nod to Soul
Asylum). Chances are you won't have too many chances
to play "Hard For A Tard" or "Should The Ugly Girl
Blow Me" around the office, but Songs For The Wrong is worth sharing. Just leave the person who pretends to be an upstanding citizen out on the front porch.
