The Slagg Factory is the latest EP from masked math metal weirdo's Dr Slaggleberry and picks where their last release, the live Tuc Into The Tar, left off, showcasing their twin guitar and drum assault across five buzzsaw instrumental freakouts. Despite the absence of bass and vocals the Doctors provide an effortless demonstration of their musical prowess across a dynamic wave of hypnotic arrangements that gives a new meaning to the definition of spontaneity.
In my last review of the Doctors I mused on how far they could progress the format and this very much suggests that the creative juices are working in overdrive. Highly recommended they are unquestionably the most innovative new band I have heard thus far in 2009.
