Taken from the forthcoming album What I've Become by the New Jersey, five member metal band Core Device, this single has the song "Spiritual" and also a track from 2004 titled "Our Fellowship Eternal" taken from their album of the same name.
Both "Spiritual" and "Our Fellowship Eternal" are heavy tracks of the technical variety, keeping Core Device's members busy. Mostly clean vocals prevail, with the odd angry delivery adding to their music's attraction. "Spiritual" kicks off with some lively showings on the guitar and drums front, Core Device go on to deliver a tight well tuned performance. "Our Fellowship Eternal" has a more peaceful beginning, but it's short lived when the barrage of drums take off before settling into a heavy guitar/kick pattern for the vocals to commence, this track being my pick of the two on here.
This CD may only be a short sample of their music, but Core Device are certainly appealing enough to warrant checking out What I've Become for a larger taste. Particularly worth investigating if you like your metal to contain impressive musicianship.
