Not being overly thrilled by the rather average releases I've heard from Pulverised Records, I was not exactly jumping in the air when those five promos came in. To make matters worst, those came in twice! To a certain degree, some of them are not so bad, like this one for instance.
The cover art could very well be the next Hells Angels' logo, and perhaps the songs on this disc their future anthems. That is the feeling I'm getting from listening to their songs: bikers' music! Songs like: "Brutal War", "Another Onslaught" and "Marching Towards Destruction", are all bikers related. Nonetheless, there are some good points about that music, making those violent pieces of Deathly Black Metal somewhat melodic and enjoyable. First, the sound production is good and beefed up. The songs are not too long, so even if they are not too varied, in your face and a bit repetitive, the album does not get boring after a few tracks. Then, the good points are those moderate and crunchy parts. During those, juicy/greasy and crushing guitar riffs are happening. At times, I feel that some keyboards are being used to add an extra layer of juice in the mix, which is very fine and tasty. More melodic tones are being brought home via tremolo pickings and leads, as well as a few solos. Nothing too fancy, just some more harmonies here and there. A couple tracks are standing out, namely: "Outbreaks of the Blitz" and the instrumental title track.
Not a great album by any means, just like a good ol' greasy bag of French fries from my youth.
