How do you classify this Italian band's music? it has a gothic come heavy industrial/techno/progressive metal feel, with a mixture of dark/clean male plus some female vocals. Including the ever popular down tuned guitar sound, animated keyboards and effects, and spirited drumming propelling the band, this is diverse stuff. Parts of Ensoph's music would fit quite well as a Sci-Fi movie score; it is rather atmospheric and somewhat haunting. Ensoph have been around since 1997, yet I have to say this is my first experience with their music, though I'm sure it wont be the last.
That industrial/techno feel can be heard on the short starter "Evil Has Found A Servant". Ensoph kick it up a notch with the dramatic "Dance High & Shine, Shiva!"and get grooving with the song "Shame On You!". "The Whore & The Ashetist" is like an eruption of storming metal, exploding with a furor of riffs/drums, evil vocals and pulsating bass lines. Rex Mundi X -IIE reaches it's conclusion with a catchy version of Alice In Chain's classic "Would?".
So , in summary, these guys aren't your usual metal act, with Rex Mundi X -IIE Ensoph have assembled an entrancing collection of songs, as the band shows they prefer to experiment and push the envelope rather than deliver standard fare.
