Oblivion's Candle is an EP from three piece band, The Isosceles Project, with Eric Euler on Guitar, Scott Tessier on Bass, and behind the drums is Justin Falzon.
The Isosceles Project disperse a luring blend of progressive metal, minus the vocals, yes folks Oblivion's Candle features four instrumental numbers. The band may be looking for a vocalist from what I read, so things may indeed change, but as for this release, well, I found their brand of technical metal most enjoyable, and here they have released a very balanced mini album.
"Dopplenganger" is the EP starter, with The Isosceles Project's members revealing their diverseness. The track is one for the epic fans at close to fourteen minutes, with plenty of tempo and intensity changes. "Oblivion's Candle" is also of considerable length, and has the band branching out again, no tedious continuous riffs on the album. "Solace" and "Whispers In The Factory" both also show The Isosceles Project's competence to expel creative music.
If they are to add a vocalist to the line-up, well then this band could certainly be a strong force in the genre, but if they don't their music still has substantial appeal on offer.
