Defecation: Intention Surpassed

14 years after the first Defecation album, Mitch Harris finally got around to putting out the follow up Intention Surpassed. Taking on all duties this solo effort under the name Defecation is a far superior work than their first blast of death metal Purity Dilution.

With a pummeling beat and thrashing guitar, Mitch injects some really energetic and enthusiastic grindcore metal into this sonically brutal release. When he lets loose with his high pitched scream to open the album it is a welcome call to all that wish to musically be pounded into oblivion! This disc is thirty nine minutes of such intense, heavy music the result may just leave you wondering where the freight train came from that just run over you!

The only complaint that I have with the album is that it's very one dimensional. While there is some terrific slash and burn, it's totally unrelenting and will not give you a moments rest. The one dimensional aspect can also be used to describe the vocal style that Mitch uses throughout. It's clear that this disc is meant to do one thing and that is to batter your grey cells.

This one is a whiplash waiting to happen. Great fun and Metal Mind has given you a chance to really enjoy this blistering work with a limited edition. So grab it while you can, I would think that 2000 copies will be gone in no time!
