Brazilian Power Metal band Hibria are back, following on from the impact of their well received debut Defying The Rules, with The Skull Collectors. Defying The Rules really was a fine collection of uplifting, ass kicking Power Metal speedsters, certain to have given many ears a pounding.
No changes here, The Skull Collectors has Hibria dishing out more of what made their debut so very good. Erupting with "Tiger Punch" Hibria's members give their instruments a furious workout on this catchy speedster, "Reborn from the Ashes" has more soaring vocals and striking performances, their music is quite technical at times, no surprise as they do list Dream Theater and Racer X as influences amongs others. "Screaming Ghost" is another explosive number, "Burning all the Flags" Hibria gives a fine showcase of guitar/bass execution, and "Devoted to your Fear" presents another strong track as is the raging title song. "Wing of wax" clocks in the longest, Hibria lets loose once again with more outstanding guitar fueled metal and a cracking way to end The Skull Collectors.
So come on you Power/Speed Metal fans- this is essential listening! Grab a copy of The Skull Collectors, and experience Hibria's ballistic metal for yourself, as they really are one of the better bands out there.
