Brazilian metalists Sepultura are back and they mean business! They have never been shy about their subject matter and once again they have come up with a terrific metal opus with the release of A-Lex. The album is based on the novel A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess and Sepultura has captured the brutality and mayhem perfectly!
This is the second concept album in a row for the Sepultura boys and as with their previous release Dante XXI which is based on The Divine Comedy by Dante, they have managed to elicit the true spirit of the subject matter with their music. They also manage to do so without compromising their sound. A-Lex is a masterful stroke of metal mayhem that will leave you gasping for breath and looking for the Korova Milk Bar for a little relief!
While Derrick Green, with his death metal growl is the voice to this story and Andreas Kisser is the guy who provides the dynamic six string soundtrack, the guys who keep you headbanging throughout this disc is bassist Paulo Jr. and new drummer Jean Dollabella. This rhythm section provides you every opportunity to do some skull smashing with a remarkable display of punishing tempo and precision accompaniments.
Delve into the world that Sepultura has created with this masterwork. From the wicked, hellish onslaught of such songs as "Moloko Mesto" and "What I Do" to the original rendition of Alex's favorite artist "Ludwig Van", Sepultura proves once again that they are a true leader in the world of intelligent, thought provoking metal!
So grab your droogs and head to the nearest store skorry to plunk down your cutter for this horrorshow pop-disc!
