Poisonblack: A Dead Heavy Day

A Dead Heavy Day is the third release from Finish metal band Posionblack. With a lineup consisting of Ville Laihiala (former Sentenced) - Vocals & Lead Guitar, Antti Remes - Bass, Janne Markus - Guitar, Tarmo Kanerva - Drums and Marco Sneck - Keyboards, A Dead Heavy Day is a commanding release.

After "Introuder" a short bluesy guitar intro, "Diane" comes rocking in with balsy guitar riffs, assertive drums and Vocalist Ville Laihiala's powerful voice, reminiscent of James Hetfield's at times. The strangely titled "Human Compost" is a cool heavy thumping number and "Bear the cross" delivers with crunching riffs and another memorable chorus. Album title track "A Dead Heavy Day" is a slower, mighty metal tune and another demonstration of the bands ability to convey what's required.

Poisonblack have produced a fine guitar propelled album with A Dead Heavy Day. There is plenty of metal fueled attitude to be digested here on this one.
