Here's another old school thrash band, this time with a wild screaming female vocalist. Voetsek latest Infernal Command has seventeen all be it very short tracks as you can see below, so don't be fooled into thinking this is an album of considerable length. There's the morbid death metallish cover art backed up by the lyrical content such as on track fourteen "Dismember Momma". A wide range of themes throughout Infernal Command are there to be discovered.
Thought provoking songs like "Five Years In Iraq" are featured here, with the words "Broken promises everlasting lies, political grip takes hold, as our freedoms die, 5 years in Iraq and nothing has changed, more body bags filled, day by day, war equals money for those in power, sending the troops off while they safely cower". "Strange Fruit" is another with a strong message, about the past treatment of people "Southern trees bear strange fruit, Blood on the leaves and blood at the root, Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze, Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees". It's an interesting read through the tracks, especially as it's pretty hard to make out what the vocalist is singing, given the frenzied punk/thrash style it's very much a blur.
On the whole, Voetsek's Infernal Command is a no compromising metal thrash fest, while it lasts.
