Metal Mind has given all Pitchshifter fans a real treat with this re-issue of the very entertaining album Deviant. Not only do you get an album filled with their witty, wry humor, you get a bonus. This is an enhanced CD that will take over your computer with enough Pitchshifter material to keep any fan busy for awhile! There is a cool little movie along with the obligatory screen savers. But the nice feature is a bunch of music samples that can be downloaded. It definitely makes this disc a must have for any fan.
Pitchshifter has always seemed to be a band that you could never expect what might show up on their disc. The music style would change completely with every release. For the album Deviant, you get the lighter side of the band with many examples of radio friendly music. It seems that at this point they were trying to go for a more commercial sound. There is still the industrial quality that they were known for but it is not as predominant as on other albums. This album reminds me a lot of the band Everclear in its approach and style.
So for a bit of metal fun with a wit that will bring a smile to your face, you won't go wrong with this re-issue. Not to mention that it comes in a limited edition numbered case with a gold CD to boot!
