By Any Means Necessary: The Discord Of War

Austin Texas is the home of this brutal metalcore band. They say everything is bigger in Texas but with a 3 song disc that totals less then 10 minutes in length, this is one case where size does matter! I think that the band might be able to deliver much more than what they show here. Vocalist Adam Wright seems to sing everything in the same monotone for the whole duration of the disc. There also seems to be a very similar feel and sound to each of the three songs on the album. I would hope that given a chance, the band could show a much broader spectrum to their music. Kevy Rojas on guitar gives you a couple of very good solos on both the title track and the closer "Erase The Plague". Otherwise, the music is very single minded and lacks any depth or scope. The three songs are all worthwhile in their own right, but as a package, this disc leaves me wanting to hear if this band can give us something more.
