They've been around for quite some time, but veteran Las Vegas trash metal band continue to churn out the groove laden extreme metal once again here with No Time For Sorrow their latest and first for Blind Prophecy Records. Images of Pantera, Lamb of God, Pro-Pain, and Machine Head instantly come to mind here, so you are not going to get the most original sounding metal on this one, but as long as you are ok with that, expect plenty of head banging fun. Vocals are a mix of thrash screams and more death metal-ish growls, and thanks to some solid production, tracks like "World of the Transparent", "Red Sky Revolution", and "Backstabber" have a real huge sound, the big beefy distorted guitar riffs perfectly collide with crushing rhythms and the brutal vocals. It's hard to really fault much here, most of the tracks are well delivered and executed, though by the latter part of the CD you'll feel like things have started to wear a little thin, basically due to the fact that Hemlock still don't really have much of their own identity. These guys can play, and their crunchy approach to thrash/death/groove metal is well executed, but they don't do enough at this stage to separate themselves from the pack and stand out as something really special. No Time For Sorrow is still worth a listen if you like your metal with some thump to it and with a familiar feel.
