If lines like "I wanna make you horny/But I can't get it up" turn you on, then consider Mindless Self Indulgence — a perfect name for a self-absorbed electro-punk-metal quartet with limited musical and lyrical attention spans. But for those of us older than, say, 22, If will sound like the kind of album you'd expect from an aren't-we-clever band that has a singer named Jimmy Urine, opened for Insane Clown Posse and titled a live album Alienating Our Audience. None of the songs are longer than three-and-a-half minutes; they are fast, loud, occasionally filthy, often catchy and almost always obnoxious. In fact, at 45 minutes, this album is about 20 minutes too long.
The kids must love Mindless Self Indulgence, though, with plenty of streaming activity on the band's MySpace page and number-one spots on Billboard's dance(!) sales charts.
