EOTO (pronounced Ee-oh-toe) is a collaborative effort between two members Jason Hann (drums, electronic percussion, remixing) & Michael Travis (keyboards, guitar, bass, percussion, remixing) of jam band The Sting Cheese Incident. However don't expect much in the way of musical similarities, as EOTO is an entirely different animal which leans more towards delivering 100% purely improvised electronica.
Recorded over the course of just 3 days, their latest release Razed features 12 energetic and altogether refreshing instrumental tracks that combine all the elements of modern, club style beats, with an overall sound that is surprisingly organic. The duo keeps things exciting for the listener throughout the course of Razed by deploying a heaping dose of deep, bass infectious grooves, fractured beats and various futuristic sounding electronic bleeps. If you're not hooked by the tweaked out dub infused rhythms of closing track "Graved", then you just haven't been paying attention, because by this point the duo has thrown out every single sound available in their arsenal at you. In the end, although I'm not really a big fan of this style of music per se, I found Razed to be a very infectious and enjoyable listening experience overall.
