Fall From Grace: Sifting Through the Wreckage

Not much of a wreck here. In fact, Seattle's Fall From Grace — a quartet of young punks who look like refugees from Green Day and Good Charlotte — beat out 7,000 other bands to win the nationwide Bodog Battle of the Bands and land a $1 million recording deal with Bodog Music. That explains why Sifting Through the Wreckage, 42 minutes of loud, gritty and punky rock anthems that'll have you shaking your fists in sheer delight, sounds like, well, a million bucks.

Produced by Terry Date, whose resume also includes Soundgarden and Pantera, this 12-track disc is laced with melody and attitude, bouts of shouting and some snotty but rarely off-putting vocals. In fact, despite the obvious demographic Fall From Grace is targeting — the band has played the Warped Tour for two years running — these guys pack plenty of universal appeal, especially with a softer side that incorporates piano and acoustic guitars into the whirlwind of bombast and aggression.

My Score:

Not only is Fall From Grace an amazingly amazing band they are some of the nicest guys i know. they still come to astoria and do out small local shows and they don't act any different than b4 the battle of the bands. they worked realyl really hard to get where they are at now and i am so very proud of them. their song Blue and Cold is my all time favorite forever they have been playing that in astoria for a while now. and it's a lot of peoples favorites.. oh! but the crowd fav is when they do Pet Cemetery it's awesome!
