Black Dawn: Blood for Satan

Hail Black Dawn! A band only a wicked stepmother could love? A band we would worship on principle were the music banal and hackneyed, relentlessly formulaic, and about as genuinely subversive as your average Britney Spears video? All of the above. Blood for Satan (Necropolis Records) must not only be heard (under the conditions specified below), but studied, venerated and perhaps placed in some sort of time capsule for the benefit of future generations. Note: As Hoath Wrath, Black Dawn's "spokesperson and lead venom-spitter," indicates, Blood for Satan "should only be listened to during the practice of self-mutilation." Unrecognizable to all but my closest friends, I can now say that my appreciation for Black Dawn is solidly founded.
