Hailing from the heartland of the United States, Missouri's Ancient Creation certainly chose the appropriate name. Evolution Bound unleashes old-school (some might even call it "ancient") progressive power metal on the masses — or at least those who can track down a copy of this release on The Netherlands' Melissa Records. Merging Metallica with Metal Church, Ancient Creation relies on Steve Bentley's gritty vocals, a dual-guitar attack and a thudding rhythm section. It's all steeped in raw, bottom-heavy Eighties production values, simple yet effective hooks and the band's "classic metal rules!" bravado.
