Marsh, Bob: Viovox
Not sure what to make of this incoherent, impenetrable mess created by musical madman Bob Marsh. Viovox is 18 tracks of Marsh using a Boss Harmonizer to create effects on his vocals, which are actually rants, raving, and sermons, as well as throw in loops, violin, and cello to create a wall of, well, noise. Much of this sounds like an old FM station that you can't really get in clear, and all you hear is static and distant, echoey voices and bits of sound. I might even go as far as to say that the warbling going on here would be great chatter between two aliens in a Science Fiction movie. You would be hard pressed to call anything on Viovoxmusic, and quite frankly it's even too out there to be called avant-garde. I'm all for experimentation and trying something different, but I'm hard pressed to find anything redeeming here, except to maybe recommend it to serious users of hallucinogenic drugs who are looking for the soundtrack to their next freakout.
