Quick Change: Circus of Death (remaster)

Track Listing Quick change had much potential and they really carried a raw street sound (primarily of thrash descent) around with them. Problem is-- they were too much street and not professional enough to elevate themselves in the eyes of the general record buying audience and their professional counter-parts. For 1988 you could hear that they were not developing fast enough to stay relevant in a thrash culture that was much more progressive by that point. The image that they were alluding to was never fully realized as well. The lyrics, which would have helped reinforce that fact, vacillate greatly from ludicrous takes on television perversion ("Leave it to the Beaver") to banging the local tart on the beach ("Sea Witch"). Most certainly, the fact that the band obviously had no budget certainly did not help them either.

The playing, though competent enough, was lacking a certain impressive factor which could have helped people forget the fledgling image concerns. Often times, if you can play your asses off at a certain level of achievement, people will be far more forgiving of other things that may need additional enhancement. If you're curious, you're basic needs will be met. But this does not contribute to anything more than some ear candy representing a particular moment in the metal time-line.

Metal Mind does an excellent job with the packaging and materials used throughout. They also do an excellent service in bringing many rare and out-of-print (OOP) titles (like this one) that are so out of reach in the used market; allowing them to be pocket friendly to the collectors looking to pad their collections!
