Himsa: Summon In Thunder

Ahh... lovely old Seattle, the home of Starbucks, the Seahawks, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Heart and Queensryche. Dreary Seattle, the birth place of the Grunge movement of the late '80's & early '90's is also the home of the ferocious quintet, Himsa. Yes kiddies, Himsa have returned with an 11 song opus called Summon In Thunder and man, are they pissed! Welcoming back into the fold original guitarist Sammi Curr, Himsa obviously feel they have something to prove and prove it they do.

Fans of Euro-styled American Metal like God Forbid, Killswitch Engage and Shadows Fall will eat this new CD up. Summon In Thunder is as in your face as it gets. With song titles like, "Reinventing The Noose", "Den Of Infamy" and "Skinwalkers", Himsa demand your attention and to be honest it's pretty hard not to give it to them. Summon In Thunder is thrashy and manic while still being melodic with nice old school twin guitar harmonies throughout. Check out the scorcher, "Haunter" for some great New School Metal with Old School ties.

Himsa have created the CD of their career with a little help from their friends (pardon the obvious pun). Canadian Metal God, Devin Townsend produced the vocals, former Himsa producer Steve Carter handled the music and famed producer Tue Madsen (The Haunted) tied it all together handling the mixing and mastering of the record. The use of all 3 of the guys made for a sonically great sounding record. No downsides here!

Every band hopes to have their own, Master of Puppets, Number of the Beast or Reign in Blood, and this could be that record for Himsa. And they have delivered a one, two punch to the head with Summon In Thunder. 45 minutes of power, speed and raw devastating American Metal and Himsa have made every effort to take their place among the Metal elite with this new release.

Do yourself a favor and pick up Summon In Thunder it won't disappoint. A "take no prisoners" CD that leaves you wanting more.
