Since it appears that The Esoteric has shuttered itself up in a summer cottage for the remainder of eternity to lick the wounds it incurred by creating Subverter, an album that should have placed the band in the big leagues for once and for all but instead saw it lose an original member and another integral one, it looks like the work of bringing dark and mathy metal to the forefront is now in the domain of these lads. That's good news 'cause it seems like few other bands can put the boogie in their cloven butts like this lot. Check out "Van Zant," "This Is The Blues" and "Fire Spitter" for more. Yeah, you've heard some of this before but rarely with the kind of acidic spit and passion put forth across these 11 tunes.
