Onslaught: Killing Peace

British thrash legends Onslaught make their triumphant return with their first album in eighteen years with Killing Peace from Candlelight Records. And if you're looking for old school thrash you came to the right place. Vocalist Sy Keeler is back to lead the boys on this new journey that harkens back to the days of 'The Force".

Right from the opening attack of "Burn" the listener is put in a time machine and taken back to the days of tight heavy riffing, blistering double bass drum beats, scorching solos, and sinister vocals. Onslaught remind everyone how good they were, or are rather, at their particular brand of "black thrash", proven on the title track when Keeler kicks it off by proclaiming, "Spitting blood in the face of God!". Not everything is fast on Killing Peace. There are plenty of thrash churning breakdowns to be had, and there are a few slightly down tempo tracks such as "Prayer for the Dead" that are extraordinary.

The entire band is as tight and powerful as they've ever been on this comeback album. The lead guitar work of Al Jordan is particularly impressive. Onslaught fans will definitely love this new offering from the boys. Anyone who likes thrash, new or old; or anyone needing a lesson in old school thrash needs to check out Killing Peace.
