While not strictly a grindcore band (there's a hint here and hint there of Limp Bisquick and Shipnot), Finland's Dauntless seems fixated with a brand of grind-cum-horror that was semi popular for a minute or two back around 199– but has since become passé. At
least in the drums and vocals department. The guitarists want to be someplace else entirely, maybe the Bay Area, maybe their grandmother's basement. Hard to tell. Truth is, Bub, this band's all over the map and few of the places it visits are truly worth
recommending. A little more focus on writing solid songs and less focus on being "brutal" will no doubt make for better music in the future. In the meantime, we're left with a pretty bland and chaotic affair
