Crucified Barbara's In Distortion We Trust is a mediocre slice of Gilrschool hardrock and metal cliches. Which is a shame because the parts really are better than the whole. You could strip out most of the vocals and compress the instrumental bits and their serviceable solos into three or four really great songs. As it is, it's unfocused and plods along with not a lot of ideas. Songwriting-wise, it's as if they took a refrain like "Play Me Hard", repeated it several times over three and a half minutes and filled the rest with heavy bits. And that's really the album. Some of the better tracks include the title track, the speedy "Motherfucker", a couple of energetic numbers like "My Heart is Black" and "Rock 'n' Roll Bachelor", and the guitar solos in "Going Down" and "I Went Myself". The album closes out with Motorhead cover "Killed by Death".
