The latest full length release from Italian avant-garde/ metal band Ensoph is truly a trip into their bizarre, eclectic underground. Enspoh's music for the most part can be classified as metal but with a very strong emphasis on electronica and industrial. Flutes and synthetic tabla's can be heard mingling in the mix with lush Gothic keyboard arrangements as the combination of clean and shrieking vocals keep the listeners attention throughout. While the music on Project X-Katon may be suited for heavy rotation throughout the underground clubs of Europe, the question begs, is Ensoph more about the latex or the leather? The music on this disc might not appeal to the more traditional metal demographic but while Project X-Katon is not an easy listen, you've got to give them credit for pushing the creative envelope.
