Terrorizer: Darker Days Ahead
Darker Days Ahead is Terrorizer's follow up to their 1989 classic release, World Downfall. Two of the original members recorded this album, Pete Sandoval (Morbid Angel) on drums, and Jesse Pintado on guitars, with two new members joining the group, Anthony Rezhawk on vocals, and Tony Norman playing bass and guitar.
Terrorizer plays grindcore/death metal. The songs are fast, with heavy guitar riffs, blast beat drums, growls, temp shifts, and last from two to four minutes. This also exemplifies one of the problems, Terrorizer's sound is not original anymore. For a band that had released one album, which became famous after they had already broken up, to then come back and record a new album is risky. It is like a sequel to a movie. If its bad, it can often hurt the legacy, including people's opinion, of the first movie. Darker Days Ahead is not going to hurt the legacy of World Downfall; however, it is not going to have a legacy of its own. Instead, it is a good album, with songs that are easy to get into, although not very different from each other, but the album would probably come off great live. Sadly, Jesse Pintado passed away soon after the album was released.
