Here we have yet another death metal band plying their wares with the trade mark growl vocals that pleases some and leaves others uninspired.
Granted, this sub genre of metal has been done to death already (no pun intended) and accepting that the use of growl vocals makes it nigh on impossible to detect if the singer has a good voice or not, you'd assume an aspiring band would try and add something new to the formula to make them stand apart from the pack..
Unfortunately, they don't as most of the songs sound too similar to the one preceding it and have that predictable sludge element and heavy riffage that we've all heard many times before.
Despite only possessing 3 separate words within the lyrics, "Run, Slut, Run", the fifth track is the best named song I've come across in ages and is entitled, "Parasite Hilton and Other Flaws Inherent to Wealth". The title says it all really doesn't it?
I prefer a lot more technical virtuosity with my music so growl vocals in general will never score really highly with me, however, there can be no denying, the Sloth doth rock.
