Mungo Park: Paranormal

Mungo Park are a folk /pop duo comprised of Ed Craig and Ed Sikora who hail from New Jersey, and their latest independently released CD Paranormal is a solid collection of likeable, well written pop songs with a folk slant to them. The duo are primarily responsible for handling most of the music played on Paranormal, but they do get some help in the drum and keyboard area from other musicians, especially from Rave Tesar who handles the adept moog solos on the title track. The twelve songs on Paranormal are all positive and upbeat in sound and mainly acoustic in nature and not only does Craig deliver some fine vocal work throughout but he also manages to inject a lot of humor lyrically into the songs as well. If your musical tastes run towards well written pop with an emphasis on good songwriting and solid musicianship then you should give Mungo Park a listen.
