Revelation Theory: Truth Is Currency

Give Creed and Nickelback credit for spawning a slew of (short-lived) careers for bands that sound exactly like one another. Despite lots of pre-release hype Revelation Theory was the only unsigned band to play a Dallas festival featuring bands like Chevelle and Theory of a Deadman this New York City-based outfit really only offers more of the same potent but predictable blend of hard and heavy guitars, forced and angst-ridden vocals, angry and frustrated lyrics, and muscular and melodic rhythms. If you can't get enough of that kind of music in songs with simple titles like "Take Away," "Undone" and "Slowburn," then by all means revel in this Revelation. You may even find a few memorable moments in the catchy "Selfish and Cold," the closing ballad "Over the Line" and the soaring chorus of "After the Rain."

As for me? If I want Creed or Nickelback - which I'll admit I usually don't - I'll listen to Creed or Nickelback.
