One Man Army and the Undead Quartet: 21st Century Killing Machine

After the demise of Swedish melodic death metallers The Crown back in 2005, lead singer Johan Lindstrand found himself a few new mates that he could create some extreme music with, and One Man Army and the Undead Quartet was born. After releasing the EP When Hatred Comes to Life in 2005, the band set out to create their first full length CD, which has resulted in 21st Century Killing Machine on Nuclear Blast. Fans of thick and crunchy death metal with plenty of groove will rejoice in the juicy sounds contained on this CD, with Lindstrand's deep growls leading the charge, followed up closely by the double barrelled guitar attack from Mikael Lagerblad and Pekka Kiviaho. Songs like "No Apparent Motive", "So Grim So True So Real", and the pummeling title track rock hard with no shortage of brutality, but remain fairly catchy and melodic. That's why One Dead Army and the Undead Quartet have a chance to appeal to more than the death metal crowd, much like fellow Swedish rockers The Haunted. Riff after pounding riff, 21st Century Killing Machine is one groove-a-licious collection of intense anf catchy metal anthems that will provide plenty of headbanging fun to lovers of brutal yet melodic extreme metal.
