Hate Profile: Opus I-The Khaos Hatefile

Opus I: The Khaos Hatefile is the first part in a scheduled trilogy from black metal project Hate Profile, who are comprised of multi-instrumentalist Amon 418 (Hortus Animae, Opposite Sides, Baratro) and GroM (Ancient, Hortus Animae) on drums. Black metal concept albums are usually pretty intense affairs, and this one is no exception. This is heavy, dark, cold, and brutal stuff, borrowing just as much from the old school black metal bands of the late 80's-early 90's as they do from the newer symphonic bands of today. Amon 418's deadly vocals rasp and screech their way through eight chapters on this first part of the trilogy, and his bone crunching yet memorable and melodic guitar riffing is supported by the sandblasting drum work of GroM and the occasional keyboard texture. To say this is epic and extreme stuff is an understatement, and I only wish I had a lyric sheet to read along with the story as I go along from track to track. Musically speaking, there's lots to dig into here, and I'm fairly certain Hate Profile are going to quickly make some waves in the black metal community with this first installment of their Trilogy. So if you are ready for some huge, evil, yet highly adventurous black metal sounds, looks no further than Cruz del Sur Music's latest find Hate Profile, as they prepare to unleash their saga on the unsuspecting metal world.
