Filii Nigrantium Infernalium: Fellatrix Discordia Pantokrator

After you get past all the backwards lettering and unreadable print that adorns this rather Satanic looking package from the band Filii Nigrantium Infernalium, you really do get some pretty good old school thrash meets contemporary black metal on the Portuguese band's full-length debut Fellatrix Discordia Pantokrator. Sure, the vocals are right out of the Dani Filth school of high pitched screams, and there's none of the symphonic keyboards that adorn the Cradle of Filth albums, but these guys have a way with guitar riffs and leads that really works here. Could be the fact that the band has been around in one form or another for 15 years, so they have really learned their craft well. This is not for the weak or faint of heart, no no, this is metal for all the legions of darkness, who like their music dripping with evil, yet expertly played. Hard to pin highlights, as all the tunes are pretty good, if not a tad too similar to each other, but like I mentioned earlier, the guitar work is especially good, and depending on whether you can get past the screeching vocals, this one should be a winner for extreme metal fans of all ages.
